Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure which is done so that the woman’s breast size and shape is increased. This is done by placing a saline filled implant with a silicone shell under the breast.

Most women opt for breast augmentation if they feel that their breast size is too small or disproportionate to their body size. Some women also opt for breast augmentation if they have unevenly developed breasts. Some women’s breasts shrink after pregnancy and they wish to restore their breast size through this procedure. There are also those who have undergone mastectomy who choose to have breast augmentation.

The benefit of breast cosmetic surgery implants is that you will have larger and fuller breasts. However, the results may not look exactly like natural large breasts. The breasts tend to be a bit rounder and less saggy then natural breasts of the same size.

In order to undergo breast augmentation, the minimum age requirement is at least 18 years old.

There are several factors that affect the cost of breast augmentation. This includes the place where the surgery is performed, the fees of the cosmetic surgeon and anesthesiologist, and the style of type of implants that are going to be used.

The intensity and duration of pain of breast enlargement cheshire vary with individuals. After the procedure, a woman may feel tired and sore for a few days. Women usually return to their normal activities within three to four days without much pain.

The breast augmentation procedure takes approximately one to two hours for a routine breast augmentation procedure. The duration of the procedure differs according to the technique used, the placement of the implants, and the type of anesthesia used.

Women have asked if there is a higher risk for cancer in women with implants. No evidence is yet available to substantiate that breast implants are associated with a higher cancer rate.  However, breast implants can alter the way a mammography is performed in order to detect breast cancer. There are special displacement techniques done by trained radiologists since breast implants may obscure breast tissue on some views.

There are breast augmentation patients who have experienced arthritis-like conditions and immune system diseases. However, as of now, researchers have not found any clear link between symptoms of connective tissue disorders and silicone breast implants. Further studies are still being conducted on the matter.
